Portland Boat Works, located just south of the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown on the Connecticut River, is a full-service, NMMA Certified, facility specializing in the service, restoration, storage and general maintenance of larger yachts. Eight heated service bays enable year-round service to boats up to 68’. A highly skilled and experienced service team is available to address your engine maintenance, repair or re-powering needs, as well as electronic installations, repair, finish carpentry, fiberglass finishing and repair, painting and varnishing. Portland uses two Brownell self-propelled trailers to haul and launch boats up to 60 tons safely and efficiently. A travel lift is also available and used when circumstances warrant. PBW stores most of its estimated 120 customer vessels in storage sheds, but outside storage and shrink-wrapping is available as well. Summer slips are available for seasonal rental with key-access showers and bathrooms for the boater’s convenience. One of the best-maintained launch ramps in the area is available for a per-use fee or an affordable seasonal rate. Seasonal launch purchasers also have the option of leaving their boats parked on trailers near the ramp for the season for an additional fee. Picnic tables and a gazebo enable our customers to enjoy refreshing, shady breezes and beautiful, ever-changing Connecticut River vistas all summer long.
Portland Boat Works has a ship’s store for on-location needs, but also hosts an online boating store which offers very competitive pricing for those frequently used items. A new, heated showroom houses many of the newest in-stock Post and Tiara models. A waste pump-out has been installed for the 2008 boating season and gasoline is available for sale at the main dock. To ensure the long-term viability of our most valuable resource--the beautiful Connecticut River-- in 2009, we installed a state-of-the-art pressure washing pad and filtering system.
